It’s about time we realise how fortunate we really are!

Stop complaining! Be thankful, grateful and content with what you have. Stop being choosy or unappreciative.

Millions would give their lives for what we have. And all we can say is… I want this, and I want that. I don’t have this but he has that. This needs to stop. Look around you. Look at your family. Look at the house you live in. Look at the shower you have access to. Take note of it all.
Many aren’t as fortunate as we are. Bow your head and be grateful. Be content. If you aren’t content now, then when will you ever be?

As Leo Babauta said – Here’s how to start:

  1. Take a moment to be grateful for something. What in your life is amazing? Even if everything seems to suck, there must be one good thing. It might simply be that you have beauty somewhere nearby, or that you are alive, or that your kids are healthy. Find something, and give thanks for that.
  2. Catch yourself thinking, “This sucks.”It’s amazing how often people think this thought. “This sucks!” “My co-worker is the worst — he sucks!” “My wife doesn’t understand me — this suuucks!” It might be in different words, but if you catch yourself thinking something like that, pause. Reverse the thinking. Find a way to be thankful for the situation. “My wife is a caring and sweet person — maybe I should give her a hug.” “My co-worker might be annoying sometimes, but he has a good heart, and maybe I should get to know him better.” “My room might be messy but at least I have a roof over my head.”
  3. Find the little things that can give you simple joys. What do you need to be happy? I love simple things, like taking a walk, spending time with a loved one, reading a book, eating some berries, drinking tea. These cost very little, and require very little, and can make me very happy. Find the simple things that give you similar happiness, and focus on those rather than what you don’t have.
  4. Find the things about yourself that you’re happy with. We tend to criticize ourselves easily, but what if we turned it around and asked, “What do I do right? What am I good at? What is loveable about me?” Make a list. Start to focus on these things rather than what you’re unhappy with.
  5. Do the same with others in your life. Instead of criticizing them, ask yourself, “What is good about this person? What do I love about them?” Make a list, and focus on these things above all else.
  6. Assume that you, others, and life are perfect. You are great, and don’t need improvement. You aren’t a piece of clay that must be shaped and molded into something better — you are already perfect. Other people are also just as perfect, and don’t need improvement. You just need to appreciate them for who they are. The moment we are living in is not a stepping stone to something better — it is exactly wonderful, and we have already arrived at the perfect moment.

    Kindness costs nothing

    Good morning dear friends!!! 🌻

Do give this video a few minutes of your time, you will definitely be inspired. It just shows how much we have, yet we are not even close to being as kind as we are capable of.

Hope this opens your heart like it did to me. 💕

Have yourselves a fabulous day. 🌞

    Damn these veggies! :)

I don’t know about you; but I LOVE a good plate of freshly prepared veggies!😍 Here are but a few of my most favourite: Pumpkin, jackfruit and cabbage with some melting potatoes. I have enjoyed this with some Puri(pronounced as Poori). I solemnly swear these were beyond delicious. It’s easy to prepare(not that I did- cred to the boyfriend’s mum:mrgreen:). It is so insanely amazing, you will find yourself licking your fingers(as well as the plate) and running for seconds – who would’ve thought that veggies could be finger-licking-good. 🙂 Tastebuds satisfied level 3000 😁 ❤.

    Good night friends!

    Make memories.

    Dear readers!

I am so sorry. It’s so difficult to attempt life, attempt studying, attempt working and attempt living all at once. I haven’t had the chance to come and share my experiences and thoughts with you, I apologise. Without a doubt, I have been collecting memories.

I hope you all have been keeping well. Having good days, and if they were bad, hope you turned them into downright, positive days. ‘cos thats how we roll right?

    Dear Women

Here in South Africa, we are celebrating National Women’s Day today. I feel overwhelmed to see so many strong women, take the stand on behalf of others on various occasions. This needs to grow, and definitely continue – it empowers the rest of our kind. And as we all are aware, empowerment is food for the soul. 🙅

Ladies, all you have to do is love yourself, be comfortable in your own skin, realise it’s no competition between you and other females, but rather it should be a learning bond, one that uplifts each other. Once you achieve contentment with yourself, you will notice that no-ones approval or disapproval of you matters. 💪

You can a achieve any goal you set for yourself provided you work towards it. Never feel less than anyone, you are you, and you are the best you can be. Everyone is different, unique and beautiful in their own way.

Let us work towards these little realisations, and together, we can do it! We can help other women out there. We can reach out to them. But first, we need to work on ourselves. 🌻

Thank you to all women, for being the incredible souls that you are. For those that are playing the roles of mums, dad’s, carpenters, painters, cleaners, engineers, architects, friends, sisters, bread winners, security and the list goes on – you are all wonder women. You are cherished. We take our hat’s off to you. Keep doing what you do and you shall prosper. Never give up – you’ve come this far.

Celebrate yourself, not just today, but every-damn-day. 👌

We have immense love for you wonder women! 💓

There is no force equal to a woman determined to rise.

    – W.E.B Dubois

I have to admit, we have the most beautiful, colourful, and radiant everything! From clothing, to food, events, prayer, weddings, jewellery, make-up and the list goes on.

I am so proud to be Indian. We have a background oh so spiritual; one that feeds, nourishes and grows the soul.

Come to think of it, from a simple prayer like a Luxmi pooja, all the way to extravagant events like weddings, colours are so important. They are so meaningful. Just like in our daily lives, if we dress using bright, bold colours, we are mostly in a good mood, and we all know about the grey’er duller colours.

I have a wedding to attend this weekend, so let me get ahead and prepare.

Hope you have a colourful one too!!! 🙂

    Jai Hind!

    Under the weather

I do apologise for not posting in a while as I have been feeling a bit under the weather. It’s been antibiotics, jabs, tons of water and ofcourse, alot of bedtime. How dare I forget about voting in between? Yep, South Africa is in the process of change, elections and as well know, corruption. Nothing surprising.

Hope you all have been well and having great, positive days. I will give you my thoughts on the status of this country soon!

    Stay tuned!
